====== Introduction ======

Proboard itself was an extremely robust BBS product - for 8bit and 16bit DOS.

LX (Legacy/X) was a powerful BBS product - for 32bit Socket Capable operating systems.

PBLX (www.proboardlx.com) is my personal effort of merging both products into a cross-platform extremely robust BBS product.

===== Scale =====

Proboard was a robust system, offering 10,000 message areas and 10,000 file areas. While LX supported unlimited of both. Proboard supported 4 different message engines (format), where as Proboard L/X offers:

Proboard Supported these 4 (four):
  - Fido (SDM) *.msg
  - Squish (no DLLs required)
  - JAM
  - Hudson
Proboard L/X adds these:
  - Goldbase
  - PCBoard 14.5
  - Renegade

Since it now supports 7 (seven) different message formats -- Proboard L/X now includes a built-in Tosser (Import/Export of Fidonet ECHO messages). Which also demanded that we included my BinkP (Fidonet Modern Mail Exchange Protocol). Making Proboard L/X a complete Mailer, Tosser and BBS - in a single product.
