Legacy/X BBS Installation

Currently, I do not release the latest engine(s) on github.com - instead I have you download from http://pcboard.bbs.io/ from hidden URLs. I do this, as I want to control registration of the product, and manage any complications ~ as we are still in an Alpha life cycle.

Windows

The first steps you need to undertake to get Legacy/X running on your system are:

  1. Visit www.github.com/3FLLC/ModernPascal and download everything for your OS.
  2. Once you have downloaded the zip files - unpack them to C:\SOURCE\MP3\
  3. Next, you will want to download INSTALL.ZIP from this site and unpack to the previous folder
    1. mp2 install
  4. The installer will check for existing installations and upgrade otherwise:
    1. Enter your BBS Name
    2. Enter the Sysop Name
    3. Enter the Port to Accept Callers
    4. Now the installer will fetch the latest source and install in C:\LEGACYX\
    5. Once the files are downloaded, the installer starts CodeRunner
      1. You can connect to your BBS at 127.0.0.1 on the Port you selected
      2. After creating your account you will need to setup your Internet router
    6. You can run setup to update your account to Sysop security level
      1. You will want to follow the Setup Main Menu tutorial
